Let’s Talk Genetics - Rare Diseases in Northern Ireland

Thursday 21 February, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Suitability: 18+

£3. Booking essential.

A rare disease is one that, out of 2000, affects only 1 person. According to the NI Rare Disease Partnership, one in 17 people in Northern Ireland have such a condition. A startlingly high statistic when you consider that is more than 100,000 people affected, roughly the population size of Derry/Londonderry. During this enlightening evening, learn more about genetics and its role in rare diseases.

Hear the stories and perspectives of patients, carers, clinicians and researchers, involved with and are dealing with these often-isolating conditions on a daily basis. Have your questions answered by our panel of guests who will be at separate exhibition stands within the room.Have your questions answered by our panel of guests by posting those questions on the NI Rare disease partnership Facebook page and website.
