Seismic Citizenship is funded by the Department of Education Northern Ireland and British Council Northern Ireland.

This event aims to encourage schools to, create international links, promote learning of a foreign language, teach young people about an alternative culture, to raise the awareness of global citizenship and promote skills in STEM.

Each participating class will be paired with a Spanish speaking language assistant from either Mexico or Colombia and pupils will learn about their culture and language. Pupils will also learn about the dangers of earthquakes and will be tasked with building an earthquake resistant skyscraper which will be tested during the event.
