When we think of autism we usually think of challenges and deficits, such as autistic people having difficulty with communicating, making friends or understanding others. Recently, however, we have started to understand that there are also many strengths linked to autism.
In this talk Anna Remington, Director of the Centre for Research in Autism and Education (CRAE), explores the idea that different doesn’t mean worse. By delving into some of the science behind the special abilities and talents often presented by autism, Anna will look at situations where these unique skills can help push society forward in new and exciting ways.
