Professor Mark Lawler shines a spotlight on a brilliant, dedicated scientist who was key to discovering the mystery of life, yet did not receive the honour that she deserved. In this era of #MeToo, gender pay gaps, and gender inequity in science and medicine, Mark will look back at Rosalind Franklin’s lack of formal recognition for the most outstanding discovery of the 20th century and her notable omission from the award of a Nobel Prize. Mark will also highlight the significant Irish contribution to the discovery of the secret of life.
